NIDHI EIR
National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI) is an umbrella program conceived and developed by the Innovation & Entrepreneurship division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, for nurturing ideas and innovations (knowledge-based and technology-driven) into successful startups.
To inspire the best talents to be entrepreneurs, minimise the risk involved in pursuing start-ups, and to partially set off their opportunity costs of high paying jobs, NSTEDB has introduced NIDHI-Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) Program. The Program aims to encourage graduating students to take up entrepreneurship by providing support as a fellowship.
The NIDHI-EIR Program would provide a
fellowship of Rs. 10,000 to 30,000/- per month for a period of 12 months to an aspiring or budding entrepreneur of considerable potential for pursuing a promising technology enterprise idea. If the work demands more than 12 months, it could be extended up to 18 months, but maximum fellowship amount is limited to
Rs. 3.6 lakh per candidate. It is expected that NIDHI-EIR recipient forms a startup / develop a technology at the end of program.
